Good to Know
About This Cap
How Your Cap Is Made
Cut and sewn by hand in our own workshop. Leo cuts the cloth at our cutting table, Benny sews the panels, lining and brim, and every seam is finished by hand.
We check every stitch ourselves before your cap leaves the workshop.
Will It Fit Me?
A buckle on each side takes it from 52 to 62 cm (20.5 to 24.4 inches).
- Small head: pull both buckles in
- Big head: let them out
- Wear it low and a little forward, and it stays on in the wind
Not right when it arrives? Our 100-day fit promise means a refund or an exchange.
Caring for Your Cap
Brush it now and then, dab marks with a damp cloth, and keep it out of the washing machine. Our fit & care guide has the details.

In Their Own Words
Rated 4.8 · 100,000+ caps sold

Wore it to my grandson's ball game and two guys asked where I got it. Fits right and doesn't blow off in the wind.
Mike D. Ohio
Bought one for my husband's birthday. He hasn't worn his ball cap since.
Linda K. Pennsylvania
I've got a big head and nothing ever fits. The buckles on the side let it out just enough. Comfortable all day.
Ron T. Michigan
Ordered the denim one, then came back for the tweed. Sad to hear the brothers are closing, glad I got two.
Gary S. North Carolina
Got three, for my dad and my two brothers. The extra discount made it an easy decision.
Barbara L. Wisconsin
Soft inside, good stitching, sits low and neat. Looks better than the one I paid twice as much for downtown.

Made by Hand, in Our Workshop
No factory and no shortcuts. Two brothers, one cutting table and one sewing machine, the way we learned it on the Danbury factory floors.
1Cut by hand
For 39 years Leo has cut every cap at our cutting table, one pattern piece at a time. These are the last ones he cut.
2Sewn by hand
Benny sews the panels, the lining and the brim on his old machine, and finishes every seam by hand.

We check every stitch ourselves, then pack your cap and send it from our workshop to your door.

Every Cap Made by Our Own Hands
Leo and Benny have worked side by side since 1966. First on the floor of a Danbury hat factory, and since 1987 in our own little workshop on Main Street.
Every cap is cut and sewn by hand, in small batches. We never made many of one kind, so when a cap is gone, it's gone.

Four good reasons
Why men never take it off
- It fits your headA buckle on each side takes it from 20.5 to 24.4 inches. Snug on a small head, roomy on a big one.
- So comfortable you forget it’s onA soft lining and no plastic strap. Wear it all day, on the porch, in the truck, at the game.
- It stays on in the windA flat cap sits low and close. No more chasing your hat across the parking lot.
- Made by hand, built to lastCut and sewn by hand, every seam finished by hand. Jeans, a coat or a sport coat: people notice, and they ask where you got it.

Danbury Made America’s Hats
For a hundred years, Danbury, Connecticut, was the Hat City of the World. In its best years, its factories made about one in four hats sold in America.
We learned the trade on those factory floors as boys. When the last factories closed in 1987, we opened our own shop and kept going.
The same patterns, cut and sewn the old way, made to sit right on your head.

Your Questions, Our Answers
Still wondering about something? Write to us. Leo or Benny will answer.
One size? Will it really fit my head?
Yes. A buckle on each side takes it from 52 to 62 cm (20.5 to 24.4 inches). That covers nearly every man, small heads and big heads included.
Small head? Pull the buckles in and it won't swim on you. Big head? Let them out and it sits comfortably.
And if it doesn't fit when it arrives, our 100-day fit promise has you covered.
How does the 100-day fit promise work?
Wear your cap for 100 days, on your own head, in your own weather, with your own coat.
If it doesn't fit, doesn't sit right, or you simply don't love it, write to us. We'll refund it or exchange it, whichever you prefer.
How does the sale work?
Every cap is already 80% off. Take more than one and you save again, on every cap in your bag:
- 2 caps: an extra 15% off
- 3 or more caps: an extra 25% off
The discount is added for you in the bag. You don't need a code.
Say you buy 3 caps at $30. That's $90, the extra 25% takes off $22.50, and you pay $67.50. Shipping is free.
It's a gift. What if he doesn't like it?
You don't need to know his hat size. The buckles on the sides do the work.
And if he doesn't like it for any reason, the 100 days start on the day it arrives, not the day you order. A cap bought now for Christmas is covered well into the new year.
I've worn baseball caps all my life. Will this suit me?
You're in good company. Plenty of our customers bought their first flat cap to replace a baseball cap.
Wear it for a few weeks and see what people say. If it isn't for you, the fit promise covers you.
Why are you closing?
Leo is 81 and his hands aren't steady enough for the shears anymore, and Benny won't keep the shop without him.
After 39 years we're closing the shop. Every last cap goes at 80% off, and when a cap is gone, it's gone.
Are the caps really made by hand?
Yes. For 39 years Leo has cut every cap by hand at our cutting table, and Benny has sewn every one on his old machine and finished the seams by hand.
No factory and no machines doing the work for us. That is why we never made many of one kind, and why these are the last ones.
How do I look after my cap?
Brush it, spot clean it, and keep it out of the washing machine. Read our fit & care guide.
How long until it arrives?
We ship to the United States only, and shipping is always free.
Packed within 1–3 business days and delivered in 8–15 business days, tracked all the way.
